Choas but loving it...

Things have been insanely busy since I wrote last. I have been working alot and our computer is giving us issues. So I rarely have a computer at my hands. Especially when I want to write.

We started this new thing at home that each child is resposible for a night to cook. They go to the grocery store with me and they get to decide what to make and then they are to find the ingredients in the store for the meal. At the same time teaching them budgeting too. They are having alot of fun with it too. This helps me out too. So that the nights I work then they are helping and either myself or an older child helps Alex and Sebastian on their nights.
This week Alex wanted to cook Armadillo chilli (they would have this everyday if they could). So we bought the ingredients it is actually very easy meal. So he decided he needed to start it on his own.Malcolm was to fry the meat. Every thing goes into a crock pot and cooks in there. Well as he started to make the dinner he yells for Malcolm saying "IT'S LEAKING and I can't find out why. Poor thing had started to poor the ingredients inside the outer shell of the crockpot. You know the one that heats up not the part you put your food in. We all laughed about it later.
You have your kids watch you cook all the time but never realize he never knew that there was another container in it when I cook.

Cole is at scout camp this week so for family home evening we wrote letters to him. (yes they can get letters there)So they each wrote one and when Sebastian gave me his I read it. It went something like this....

Cole,
I miss you. It is so boring here with out you. I am not having fun. I am so bored. I bet you are having fun. But I am not cause you are not here.
SO HAVE FUN!
Sebastian

It was so cute. But funny. All week that is all I have heard from Sebastian is how he misses his big brother and how it isn't fair that he is only going to be home for a day or so before he leaves again for EFY.

It is crazy how one person changes your house so much. We miss his laughter and his jokes around here.

Even Sebastian's best friend Trapper said something about it. He spent the night over here on Thursday. And it was man I wish the other boys were here. Alex and Malcolm were gone. He is used to the none stop noise and playing when he is here he didn't know what to do. Neither did Sebastian. They almost needed them to help entertain them. Spoiled much.. Sebastian knows how to play by himself but very rarely does he so I think he has gotten spoiled by always having someone to play with or come up with the ideas. That night ended with Eve playing a board game with Trapper since Sebastian fell asleep he said he was bored. I am not sure I by it. It was exhausted and I was oncall so I sat down on the couch and he came an essentially sat on my hip. Cuddled up next to me. And I couldn't get him to go play with his friend. I asked" why are you so clingy?" huh? "why are to so attached to me tonight?" I don't know. Next thing you know he was a sleep. Poor Trapper.

We spent last night going shopping for EFY clothes for Malcolm. But before we went we went with my sister Stephanie and her girls to chik-fil-a for Cow appreciation. We will do anything for free stuff. NO really dress like a cow and get a free meal. So hey how better to feed the family but Chik-fil-a.. So everyone got there own value meal and it didn't cost anything more than my dignity.. Just kidding you should have seen the lengths people went to dress like a cow. We on the other hand cut out some odd shapes and colored them in and taped them to our clothes. Malcolm and Sarah seemed to have the most fun with it. Malcolm had a spot on the middle of his forehead and sarah on her face. Crazy teenagers..It was nice to sit and have dinner and talk to my sister.

I am so looking forward to next week. My sisters Stephanie, Michelle and I have to go pick up our kids from EFY so we are bringing Tracy along to have a sisters day. We are driving down to San Antonio on Friday do some shopping hang out and then Saturday we will pick up the kids and head home. It is the first of our annual sisters trips. Maybe next time our sisters in laws can go with us. We were cut short on room with the 4 kids needing to fit.

Well today Eve, Hannah and I decided to fix my mess of a floor bed in front. I should say I did and the girls got excited and helped too. Sebastian joined us after he woke up. We cleaned them out laid out mulch pretty red and it is looking pretty good. We have most of it done. I need probably another 10 bags to finish it the way I want to. But the majority of it is done and it only took 10 bags. I never knew how much it would take or how good it would look. We finished and I came inside to cool off. Nothing like 100 + weather. I don't think it had gotten that hot yet and luckily the sun hits the front in the afternoon. Eve is such a perfectionist I figured I would cool off then go back out to finish cleaning up the sidewalks. She and Sebastian did it. I am so glad I had them to help it would have taken so long with out them.

Now off to shower before I pick up Cole from Camp and do his EFY shopping.
