The last couple of weeks have been crazy around our house. We have had some sad times and happy at the same time. We lost my Uncle James this last week and that was hard for everyone. It wasn't until my adult life did I really get to know the person he was.And man was he a great man. He accomplished so many things and touched so many people in his life. His death followed his father's death( my grandfather) only 4 months ago. Eve asked me this week if the end of the world was coming because all of these people we knew were dying.
It definately can feel that way sometimes. I am so thankful for being able to have our family together forever.
Spring break has been this week and you would think it would be slower. Yeah right. I tried to get a week's worth of work in 3 days done. So that Thursday on we could have some fun. I sent Malcolm and Cole off to camp in the OK's as they call it with their scout troop. So I am thinking ok easy cheesy only 3 kids.WOW we can really slow down. Ha was I fooling myself. We went and saw Horton hears a who, the kids laughed so hard. My friend Angela and I took the Sebastian an Alex and 2 of her kids Friday to the park for a picnic and to hit the trails. It was so nice and relaxing. Today I decided I needed some make-up from the mall. Boy was I missing my built in babysitters.
So I took Alex and Sebastian with me. I bribed them with a trip to toys r us if they were good. The lady at the make-up counter was wonderful. She wanted to do the whole makeover thing. Here I am thinking ok that's great but seriously how long will they sit still. The next thing I know she is having them help her. In fact she gave them permission to put my make-up on Easter Sunday. YEAH ME!!!! Nothing like a 7 and 9 year old doing your make-up.
They got to pick out my colors of my eye shadow too for today. I think it took them a good 5 minutes looking over all the colors. At one point Sebastian decided I needed green. They finally finished and to my surprise they picked pretty good colors they matched and everything. OH they do love their mom.;) After the lady put on my makeup Alex pipes up. Wow she sure is pretty with that on. I have never seen my mom pretty like that before. Everyone died laughing. They all understood it was the makeup he was talking about I HOPE! It was cute he even offered to pay 7.50 which was all his money to buy it for me. I only wish that is all it would cost.
We finished up our shopping experience and headed to Toys r' us. What a day. And it only had started.
