First day of Taks is done and everyone survived them. Each with their own story on how it went. Something like this...
Malcolm- he was done in 20 minutes with his whole 36 questions. Was hungry and quite bored the rest of the day. Especially since he woke up late and it made him not have enough time before seminary to eat a good breakfast. Oops on my part but really he wouldn't get up. Then after school dentist and sitting in the car for 3 more hours running errands. Then how dare I make spagetti to top off his miserable day. I really didn't realize how bad his day was until almost 9pm tonight. He fell asleep on the couch.
Cole- ah no big deal... How long did it take you? I don't remember. But I really liked taking it in the class I did she brought snacks. Totally is needed with this test. Not a big talker about it. Finished his day off with Track which I was 20 minutes late picking him up because of the 3 hours in the car after school running errands. Yuck! He however was in a better mood and rode with me to the grocery store and to a friends to drop off dinner for her.
Eve- Yes! No taks for her. And I took her out of school 30 minutes early. She did spend the 3 hours in the car too. Which was not her idea of a fun afternoon and made it very well known by fighting with her little brothers. However my mistake for not thinking about how long we would be in the car running so called errands after a day when they had been couped up and not been able to talk. YIKES!
Alex- took his writing portion. He said he took his time and rechecked everything since he wanted to make a 100. Then didn't finish his writing until 2:30. He loves to write. And is very talented writer. He really should be a writer instead of a doctor. Anyways, of course he was in the long car ride today too and hence the fighting. Teach me for not thinking about their day?
Sebastian- "It was easy" I finished the 46 questions in oh an hour no maybe one and half hours... Alex just rolling his eyes at him. For the first official taks test for him. I say it went well. Hopefully grades show it too. He also was involved in our wonderful car ride today. Although not as much fighting except to tell his wonderful brother Alex and sister Eve that if they didn't quite fighting while I was talking to my boss he would throw the water in his water bottle at them to cool them down.... Hmmm good idea? or bad idea?
So I was informed today that I spend too much time on the phone. Work makes you talk on the phone too much.. They all inform me. I try to explain that because I do what I do I have to take phone calls plus reality is it was 3:30 in the afternoon and most people are still working. And if I was back working 12 hour shifts I couldn't do all of this I do for them. I was nicely informed by Eve that she would rather me work at the hospital. I asked if she remembered me working my 12 hour shifts that ended up being sometimes 14 hours or more. She said yes and it was better. Really? The rest of them reminded her that it must have been too long ago for her to remember correctly. Sebastian in no mincing of words told me he did not want me to go back to working 12 hour shifts. Reality is it may have to happen. We will see. I so don't want to do them again. Life is so much nicer when you can take and pick up your kids from school and take them to voice lessons, track, basketball practice, let them play a game of pick up football after school and get them later. Just being able to be home in the afternoons make me feel like I not so much a working mom.
In the end Today was a success. It is over everyone has showered and is fast a sleep in their beds. And I have posted 3 times today. YIKES! I really did have work to do.
Nite!
