Problem solved

A couple of weeks ago we dealt with the reality of what the world is changing to. Sebastian and Alex were learning that not everyone makes the right choices and that sometimes you will come in contact with their bad choices that can be dangerous. Both boys with their friends had a situation with kids pulling out a gun on them. We have been making decisions and figuring out how to deal with it in the best way.

Unfortunately, Sebastian has ran into 2 of these boys on several occasions either at school or while picking up Cole at football. After this occurance at his school I spoke with the vice principle yesterday. I have to say I am quite impressed with her and how fast this has been resolved. She interviewed Sebastian and then the school Police came in and interviewed him and several other children at his school that had issues with the same kid. Non of these kids go to his school which is good. The police and the vice principle were able to figure out who the 3rd kid was that was involved in the situation. I received a phone call this morning saying that all three boys had been issued tresspassing warnings and not allowed back on his school property. All parents had been talked to and that the one that owned the gun was being referred to the city Police department. However, she did say that one of the boys is known for being in trouble and that Sebastian should go the opposite direction if he saw the boy in the neigborhood. She said he has a mouth on him.

So we found out 2 of them are junior high kids and one a high schooler. From what I was told 2 of the kids are suppose to be good kids who made a bad choice and then the third who has no discipline at home. It goes to show that even if your kid is good who they hang around can change everything.

I wasn't sure how a this new school would handle this situation but I am very happy with how it was handled and how fast. The vice-principle sounded like she wasn't going to put up with anything and was going to be making sure Sebastian didn't have anymore problems. We will however have to monitor his walking route for a while. No names were used I think they thought they were protecting the boys. Which I hope so.

This was a learing experience for all of us.You should have seen Sebastian's face when he found out they found all 3 boys and that they had gotten in trouble. The relief was amazing.
