Thanksgiving this year was at our house. We were missing a Tracy and her family and Taylor and his family. I think ending count was 20 with Stephanie and a couple of girls joining us after they ate at their house.
In years past because of the amount of people we always opted for eating where ever we could find seats. This year I decided we needed to try something different to keep close to each other to talk. So I pulled out all the tables and chairs from the house and storage and we used the hockey table to serve the food. You would be surprised how well the hockey table works for food.
We managed to find seating for 20 people around tables. We started a new tradition this year that everyone went around and said what they were thankful for. We started with the teenager table.. Haha... trying to get anyone serious in this family.. So they started out with coke...etc. Then it came to Dalton and he said Jesus... Then Eve Heavenly Father..( dalton was like you one better than me.)They younger ones took it more to heart. It was nice.
Lots of pictures thanks to Dad. Can't wait to see them. After Adam and his family left, and Dad and Kim left us girls decided to join in with Rock band the kids were playing. I had never played Rock band before. We had a blast. Stephanie, Michelle and I and the kids standing behind us singing.... Then we added mom. By the nights end the kids were so excited with the day. Eve was walking around announcing to everyone that she had the best family ever... I guess we just need to add rock band for the adults to all the family events and it will be a success.
Who knew!
I didn't hit the Black Friday early morning events super early. Ran around 7 to Walmart. Then came home an shampooed the downstairs carpet. Crazy I know but I so didn't want to put up Christmas decorations without doing that. Michelle and Stephanie came and rescued me and we went shopping. Amazing enough I have quite a bit done. YES! The one thing I was having problems with Michelle found for me late yesterday. Evidently someone decided since the economy was getting bad not to furnish as many of the toys that the kids were asking for and just up the prices. hmmm who was so smart to decide that? So the items I knew they absolutely wanted I have grabbed over the last couple of paydays. Just to make sure I had it.
This year Christmas will be different we are making alot of the gifts. The kids are making the gifts for each other they can buy supplies but have to make the rest. So my main gift to the kids will be made also. I just have to find the time to get it together without the kids home..
Now to go decorate before going to work! I am so excited. I love this season....
