Now is when I wish I had a computer with me to write here as things happened on our vacation. This year for Springbreak we decided to take a longer roadtrip and head to see Taylor, Candra , McKayla and Carter. We had the opportunity to do service for free Disneyland tickets and planned on going with them to Disneyland. Unfortunately this did not happen. There was a glich and our tickets didn't get there in time. Taylor and Candra were so sweet and said they would rather spend time with us. hmmm I was on the other hand devastated that we had planned all of this and that was suppose to be the big deal and it fell through.

So I will try and start from the beginning of the trip and make it several post just hitting the highlights with pictures and yes I actually have video to post too. Yeah me I figured it out..

Cole had track practice Friday so we weren't going to be able to leave until 6pm. I decided instead to sleep for a couple of hours let the older kids finish packing the car and then leave around midnight. At first I was a little nervous about them packing but they did an amazing job. We left a little before 1am and I drove all night. The kids got their pillows, blankets and off to sleep they went in the car. This was quite nice I was able to be alone with my thoughts which can be quite scarey at times but I think I needed the down time to get away from life here and just mellow out before we started our vacation. I didn't really even get tired until about 530am. Not bad. Made really good time too. We got into Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jolene's house around 9 am or so. I think we surprised them on how early we got there. The kids were excited to be there. The first thing out of their mouths were can we shoot the guns? The kids all headed off to the range and Aunt Jolene and I headed into town to look around. The shooting range was a bit full so they came back and did shooting at their house. The advantage of living in the mountains I guess.

It was so peaceful and relaxing to be there. The kids enjoyed spending time with them and of course the Deer. I caught a video of Sebastian feeding them. He even had one kiss him on the cheek. Sooo cute. They just flock to him. He worked hard last year to get them to come to him and I think some of them remembered him. My Aunt Jolene has this way with animals. They let her get right up to them touch their antlers etc. She said this year they had an Elk even attempt her backyard. He was bigger in height then my uncle who I think is somewhere around 6 ft 5 in or taller.

They work so hard to keep us comfortable while there. Good food, conversation. We even did a long Charades game too. The time was too short though. We got in Saturday morning and left first thing Monday morning. Uncle chuck was feeling under the weather so we did get to give him a proper goodbye. We had planned on returning the following weekend to spend more time with them and my other Aunt Dot was coming with her granddaughter. But of course this winter has been crazy. I get a phone call from Aunt Jolene telling me Saturday morning that they were closing the mountain passes between Ruidoso and Roswell which never happens, they had closed roads between lubbock and there and were getting ready to close the mountain passes between Arizona and her house. I had been watching the weather and figured it might be getting bad and had already looked at rerouting us. I was just hoping it wouldn't be anymore than the snow we got as we left their house. But unfortunately it was much more.

Growing up I always loved going to their house. I remember arriving in the middle of the night to their house in Amarillo the smells etc. The memories I have. I am glad my kids are able to make memories of their own with them too.

Enjoy the pictures and video.
