Goals,

My goal this year is to post at least once a week. Even if it isn't big. But I have never been good about writing in my journal and this seems to be the best way for me to do this.

This week has been quite the long one it feels. Work has been long and crazy and so glad that I had from Thursday night to this Monday off. I needed it. My kids needed it. Sebastian and Alex have been sick this week. Ear infections and just all around yuckiness. With Alex tendency to get Pneumonia this time of year and the fact he was having some breathing issues I decided he would stay inside for the rest of the week. Not sure he liked it too much though.

Ok so my brakes started sounding bad right after Christmas. Not all the time just every once in awhile. I though ok I will have them change when I get paid. Well before payday came the grinding. Not just a little but a LOUD grinding that you just couldn't ignore. So I prayed that it would make it till payday. So today was payday and I took it to have it looked at hoping for the best. Malcolm had said he would fix them. Yes it is nice to have boys but I just wasn't sure how well he do it only assisting someone to do it once. So after picking him up from school I took it to see the damage done.
The look on the guys face said it all. I instantly just wanted to cry.. No ball! You know the feeling of can it get any worse? He showed me around the car explaining what was wrong. At first I was in this daze literally in my head going ok what is this he is saying. Does not compute!!!! Finally I came out of it to understand that it was not GOOD it was VERY BAD!! The total to fix everything was almost $1000. Then I teared up. Ok as a WOMAN you can't cry in the auto repair shop it makes you look weak like you don't know what you are doing..(which I don't)I fought it back and he asked what my budget was I simply told him I only had this much and this was using every bit of my food money too. He re calculated the numbers came up with $380. Still wouldn't work. So I asked him to put it back together I stepped outside to call my sister Stephanie. Didn't know what else to do. I asked if Clyde could help the boys put pads on. Knowing it wouldn't last very long but at least it would keep it drivable right? I hung up with her and she was going to check with Clyde. The guy comes to me and tells me that they will do bare minimum and it would be $180. I said ok. Then I spoke with Stephanie again and she said Clyde would do it. I canceled the repair and knew that it may not work. That both ways was a patch job but it was a difference of over a hundred dollars.

Tonight in the coldest weather we have had around here Heavenly Father worked his magic through my brother in law Clyde and my boys. Don't get me wrong things didn't start out good. My jack was missing parts someone else had his light and jack. hmm Eventually all was worked out and the new pads were put on. It is the prettiest sound when I step on the brakes...SILENCE!! It was bitter cold and I so appreciated the help that he gave. Malcolm and Cole both said they could do it next time as long as they had the right tools.Thank you...

We ended the night watching a movie with a fire in the fireplace. Tomorrow Alex and Sebastian start Basketball season.

I was able to find opportunities for service for the Disney tickets they are giving away. I think it will be good for the kids to do the service and it helps to get the tickets we will need for Disneyland too.
We are trying to plan a trip to see Uncle Chuck and Aunt Jolene, Taylor and Candra and the kids and then go from Taylor's house in Arizona to Disneyland and the beach. Can't resist since it is only 5 hour drive from there. All this on springbreak. The kids are so excited they can't stand it. So am I. I have never been to any of the disney parks let alone the beach in California or any other place besides the gulf of Mexico which just doesn't count.

Ok this has been a crazy and short update for the week maybe next week there will be more.
