Let the games begin...

I should be working on my review course for Ekg's right now. But I had to write about the boys first basketball game of the season.
Alex and Sebastian play in the MBA (its a league in Kennedale). This year they are on two seperate teams due to ages. Alex moved up in age group.
Alex game was first. There are several kids that seem to be new to the sport. I was impressed at Alex giving them extra encouragement and giving them pointers on the side then watching these boys do what he said and start scoring. I think it was a different game this year for Alex. Last year he was one of the older and taller ones. This year he is so much smaller than most of his team mates. He plays so hard even though they are much bigger. At one point I leaned over to Anna Dee (ram's new wife) told her we needed to get Alex pad for his hips. He was hit on several occasions that he landed on his hip. They played really good. They ended up losing in the end. They have some rule about only playing 3 quarters. So the coach had left him in the first 3 and had to pull him out the last quarter. Alex is one of the best defenders there are. He stays on them like glue and it throws them off so bad. Makes them nervous.
Sebatian's game was right after in another gym. So we race over there to see him play. He on the other hand is the tallest on his team. Same thing with him he played the first 3 quarters and had to sit out most of the 4th until one of the players got hurt then he was able to go in. The was brutal. I was surprised at the other team and the horrible fouls they were committing. They intentionally hurt 2 of our guys. One time the kid hit our guy straight up in the face to knock him out of bounds. How did the refs call it. POORLY!! I was blown away. The other coach was cheering his guy on for doing it. ARE you for REAL!!!!
Sebastian lost by 1 point. They played their hearts out and should have won it if it wasn't for the bad calls..

Ram's parents came and his new wife. I have to say I have been impressed with her and her interaction with the kids. You know you pray that who ever the kid have as a step mom that she is... well alot of things. Especially with how their dad is. She seems to be good for their dad. He is being nicer at least. I decided I was going to be "friends" you know where we can be around each other not be uncomfortable and talk. Things have been going good between us. Eve asked me if I was trying to be her friend. Why? She said I was always talking to her. I guess I figure if something ever happened to me that they had to go live with them. I want to be comfortable. For years my fear has been that I would die (I know morbid)and the kids would be stuck with their dad. Not that he is such a horrible person but his beliefs are very different than his on raising kids. The kids say alot that if they lived with him all these years they wouldn't be compasionate to others etc. With her around I am a little more comfortable. At least for now.

Well I have an online course to do for work. We will be going to a Telemetry floor the end of the month.
