New Ward and Stuff!

Our new ward met tonight for family home evening at a local park. So this was the first official event for our new ward. It was funny we were walking up to the pavillion and Sebastian goes "mom are you sure these people are all mormon?" Why? " They sure don't look like Mormon people. I tried to get him to explain to me what do mormons look like. But he quickly went on his way.

When you have a big family generally you just put your stuff down and make sure you have enough seats. I did that and we all gathered for an opening prayer and song. I am sure we had a lot of people wondering what is wrong with these people. We are singing I am a Child of god with t-ball practice all around us. It was priceless. Well I help get my kids food the little ones at least. And we start to sit down. I thought anyways. Before long it ended up being Me and Malcolm. I said at least one of my children still want to sit with me. Malcolm quickly informs me " yeah mom I don't really like to talk while I eat so I figured I sit and eat with you then go mingle with everyone else." Thanks Malcolm. So I finished my dinner by myself. I finally went to find my kids. Of course they had all moved to where the Rice family was. Should have guessed it.
Traci tells me that when the kids came over she just figure family needed to stick together.
So I guess I haven't lost all of my family to another ward. Even if we aren't really related by blood. That is another story in itself especially with our kids going to the same school and calling me Aunt Heather and the teacher looking very confused.

The night went pretty well. Malcolm is finding his place with the teenagers. Cole has met some people but he is always so hard to read. He'll tell me what he thinks later. I thought Eve would be with Molly and at first she was but by the end of the night her and Patrick were palling around. They are too much alike. Both more quiet that they get along really well.
So Traci and I sat and talked. I have to say I am guilty of not mingling tonight. How bad is that this was to meet people and I sat and talked to someone I have known for a long time. I did meet a couple of new people.
Hey Tracy Remember Jenni Cari ? She is now in my ward. I walked up to the pavillion tonight and this girl was staring at least it felt that way. Almost like she did a double take. Then later she came up to me and said you have to Heather you look just like my old friend Tracy. I swear we don't even live by each other and I still am known by my sister.....Lol
I think in a previous post I talked about the little girl Sebastian said was his favorite girl at church. As soon as she got there tonight. She apparently asked him if he thought she was pretty. He said maybe!!! What else is a boy to say.. Next thing I know she is chasing him around the pavillion trying to hit him I think. Because he didn't say yes. At least he didn't say NO! She is a really cute girl but you know how boys are. I am not sure he even got to finish eating.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. I am so glad. I am slowly seeing the good from this change.
I think sometimes I just have to bring my head out of the sand and look for it.
You know there has been so much stress and sorrow lately that to have a night just to relax and really be thankful for what you have was great!

That is crazy about Jeni Carey! You will have to give her my email so we can catch back up! Small world. What's funny is Jeffrey will see pictures of me and be like that looks like Aunt Heather! I am like no...it looks like YOUR MOTHER!!! haha

I am glad that you at least have your wanna be sister Traci in your ward right? Cant say your alone with no sisters...(oh wait none of us can...haha LDS joke right there!) Next time I know you will get out there and just wear a sign that says Hello I am Heather I am new and I want to be your friend! No more excuses for sitting back!

Yeah but being in primary I don't get the opportunity to meet alot of women. More children... which I have enough of. Just kidding.

exactly why at these "events" you need to wear your sign! ;)
