We all went to Cole's football game. Can I just say I am one proud MAMMA! He has been determined to become faster. And tonight you could see his hard work pay off. What amazes me is that he plays so many positions. So bare with me I am not a football pro yet still trying to learn positions. He played Quarterback, receiver, safety, one of the linemen guys, he played in the pocket and I think it is the center linebacker? This all in one game.Anyways, he loves to hit so he has been working on being faster man did he nail some people. You could tell he is working hard to improve on the skills he feels he needs to. At one point he went to tackle someone and he flipped the guy over. In the process from what he tells me he hit his head when he went down with the guy. He said he lost his senses for a minute on where he was and a little dizzy. My first thought hmmm minor concusion. I ask uhm did you get knocked out. NO mom just a little dizzy. But sure enough he had a headache after the game. He was really amazing tonight. The whole team did really good but I would have to say the defense did really good. The score ended up being 14 to 6.
He is so funny he tells me that he was mad at himself because the only reason they(the other team) scored is because of him. HOW? He said he saw the guy lean up and Cole left his shoulder up instead of leaning it down when he hit him that would have stopped him. Yeah ok whatever you say honey. I only try to understand I can't guarantee I do.
Cole decided this week that he really wants to be in band this next year. If you don't know how band works in Mansfield you pretty much have to start in 7(really earlier) or they don't want you in. So since he didn't take band this year he needs to get an instrument and take private lessons to catch up so he can do it in 8th grade. Yeah ok... But I have found that other than the busy schedule they have it has been really good for Malcolm to be in band. He has made lots of friends and they seem to all stay out of trouble and make good grades. So that is on our list to do in the next month. Get him started. I think he also sees it as a way to bond with his big brother. He was wouldn't it be cool if Malcolm and I were in the Marching band together? They don't have a whole lot in common anymore and this would give them something to do together. So I am willing to do it for him.
Ok tonight Ramesus, Granny,Popo, Auntie Darlene,Ramesus friend Tony, My mom, me, Eve, Alex and Sebastian were at the game. I asked Cole if he could hear everyone yelling for him? He said yeah but it breaks his concentration when they start telling him what to do. This is his dad's side of the family esp. his dad. You better tatoo your name in the guy...etc.. etc. So I need to let the loud people know you can cheer just don't tell him what to do we don't want him off his game. :)
Tonight has been a good night. I enjoy watching my kids do things they enjoy. Having that in life I think is important. It also allows me to build memories in our family of going to cheer them on. So that later in life they are more likely to remember the fun and not heartache.
