This past week has been so crazy busy.First off Malcolm is still at Cooks Hospital. He was suppose to come home today as long as he didn't have another episode before this morning. Well yeah let's just say that wasn't happening. Yesterday he had a bad round of heart rates. The Cardiologist said it was the longest SVT she has ever seen. That his rhythm was the worse than they usually see. WONDERFUL. I want my child to be remembered in life but I don't know about for this.;)
So here we are today. They started him on a bigger dose last night and again today. They are now giving him 120mg twice a day of sotolol and .25mg of Digoxin twice a day for both. We crossed our fingers and said a little prayer that this would work.Yeah not so much. Today he was tired like he was yesterday. I even told the Nurse Practicioner that I had figured there was good chance of another round yesterday after he was so tired he couldn't get up he just wanted to sleep. He did the same thing today. hmmm. So once again he had a good run of SVT today.
The doctor says her best resolution is the heart procedure. So keep praying that insurance works out so we can just go ahead and do the procedure so he can go home. She made a statement that we could be here a long time if we had to wait on the insurance to do the procedure in November. Ugh. Seriously, Malcolm has been great about it but is really wanting to get back to his life band, girls etc. So do I.
What I miss more than anything is having everyone around the dinner table for dinner. We tried very hard to always have dinner as a family every night. Even if that meant making dinner early or late. And since Malcolm has been at the hospital I haven't been able to do that. My mom has tried to help with that and keep family dinners going but I miss our conversations, laughter and home cooked food. Did you realize you can get tired of buying food out or taking things to eat at the hospital. I also miss going in at night before I go to bed checking on everyone and kissing them goodnight. It's funny how it's the little things you miss, huh.
I brought Malcolm a surprise tonight. I walked in and said I have a surprise for you... He gave me a crazy look. I then tell him it is too heavy for me to carry. I go back out the door and pull in my surprise.... COLE! He just laughed and laughed. The boys have missed each other. On the way up Cole was saying that he missed Malcolm that he was like his best friend...sometimes.:)
They have been enjoying themselves dancing, we played basketball with the wastebasket and paper towels.(yeah I know we aren't helping the enviroment but it was fun. Now they are playing x-box together. I am glad to see the relationship they are developing is so good.

Hope all goes well with Malcolm. It is never enjoyable to see your child in the hospital. Keep us updated and he will be in our prayers.
By the way did you get my email invite for my blog, did I get the right email address?
