I worked Friday and Saturday this last weekend. Work itself is good it is the switching to days after working nights that is killer. So today I am starting to get back into the grove of life. So let me ask you how is it that no matter how many times you do dishes there is always more dishes within 10 minutes of cleaning the kitchen? Seriously I think we may be going back to all paper like I did when I was in our house with no dish washer. :)
I started out the day stressed from the idea of how much work I had to get done today. Last week was so crazy that I needed to play catch up. So I have literally plopped myself on my couch in the den all day and done paperwork. That is until about 3pm or so. I decided I was much too stressed to function anymore and needed a break from paperwork. I gathered up myself and Eve and we went to go get pedicures. She did the basic and I went for the works. I really wanted a massage but being Monday it seems that the spas are closed. I just couldn't wait. I even contiplated going to the mall and having one of the guys that stand in the middle of the mall selling massages in their chairs for $15 for 15 minutes. I was oh so tempted. The Pedicure seemed to do the trick at least enough to get me through dinner and carpooling Malcolm back and forth for the evening practice. Eve of course was in heaven and the woman their just loved her.
It is so much fun just watching the band practice outside in there formations. Tonight they were running late and you see all the parents parking their cars so they can watch. It looked like chaos to music but I know when it is all said and done it will look great especially from the stands. Malcolm had tryouts for Varsity Friday. He was so anxious to find out if he made it or not. A bunch of mom's were teasing their freshman girls about not needing to worry about making Varsity because they are only freshman. Well tonight Malcolm gets in the car and goes I didn't make it. I say well there is always next year. not knowing if he is teasing me (he does all the time)Then he gets this huge smile and says yes I did. He was so excited and proud. I have to say I was too. He said they have 10 spots and 12 trumpet players. So some of the spots are contested or have shadows. Which means they have to fight for their spot every week. He was so happy that he was not one of them. He has a permanent spot for the season. I explained that didn't mean he didn't have to practice. "I KNOW MOM" like great she gonna make me practice. He was so excited he text his cousins Dalton and Sarah which Sarah response was priceless. "Yeah are you happy?" He explained to me that at the dance Malcolm, Dalton and Sarah were talking about it and Sarah wasn't sure if it was a good thing or not. She isn't into band anymore but Dalton had made Varsity his freshman year too so Malcolm and Dalton were on the same page where Sarah I think he just thought it was a girl thing. I tried to tell him different. I am so glad that we live close enough to cousins for them to build the relationships of hanging out, going to dances etc. They all seem to share secrets very well too. I just don't know about that one.
Hopefully this is a sign of a good week to come. I am almost done with my back log of paperwork I will be able to finish in the morning.
I take Malcolm to get his halter monitor put on. They will monitor him for 24 hours so Dr. Z can see what his heart is doing before his appt. next week. He was too funny. He complained about having to wear it then goes oh wait if a wire comes off I don't have anyone to bother me by waking me up to hook me back up... this was a problem during his stay at the hospital. He kept turning in his sleep and pulling them off.
At least he is learning the bright side of our chaos.....
