This weekend has been crazy finishing up last minute things for school to start. I was telling Cole I remember so well the smells, sounds, feeling of the night before school started. Sitting on the floor finishing gathering school supplies etc.The nervousness I would feel. Even when I was going to a school where I knew people. I have 3 going to new schools. Malcolm is now at high school, Cole is at a new Jr. high away from his friends from last year (because of the move) and Eve at a new Intermediate school away from her friends. I know they will do great I have to say I am nervous for them too.
We had one last hurray before school started. I took Alex and Sebastian and we went with Stephanie and her girls Georgah and Rebekah out to dinner. We went to McDonalds they played and we went to Target of course. By the time I got home my other kids were what took you so long.Come on everyone knows how long you can spend in Target. I had been able to do fun stuff with the older kids and wanted to let the younger ones have there fun too. You should have seen the kids in Target. It started out that Rebekah and Sebastian were each in a buggy then we were informed that adults aren't allowed to push when there are kids in the buggy "YOU MUST HAVE A DRIVER" So Alex pushed Rebekah and Georgah pushed Sebastian. Watch out for you ankles! They seemed to enjoy themselves but I am not real sure how Steph felt about it. I was a little worried about them knocking something down. All in all they hit one pole I think. But they had fun. It was nice to talk to Steph about life and the kids. One last time before the chaos of school starts.
We had seminary meeting tonight. I can't possibly be at that stage of having one old enough. Now trying to figure out schedules for school, seminary, football practice, band practice etc etc.... So our day will run something like this. Malcolm has to be up and at seminary by 5:45. Then Cole has to be at football practice and out on the field at 6:45. Malcolm at school before the tardy bell rings at 7:15. Eve, Alex and Sebastian all need to be at school by 7:45. But they are at 2 different schools. Then off to work for me and be back around for Malcolm gets out of school at 2:30 or 2:45. Has band practice from 3:15 to 5:15. Eve, Alex and Sebastian get out of school at 3:15. Cole gets out at 4pm. Then starts any football games, clubs, lessons and of course nightly routine. I know it sounds like a crazy schedule but I have been so looking forward to getting back to the fall schedule. We went to a preshow rehearsal of Summit band Friday night. It was so much fun to watch what the kids had practiced so far. We geared up with our Summit shirts for football season and are ready to go.
However today has been one thing after another I never thought I would get through the day and be ready.I woke up with the worst Migraine I have had in I don't know how long. Finally I remembered I had some strong pain meds and took them around 3pm. It went away enough to go to the meeting and then when we were putting dinner on the table Cole had a dish in his hand with chicken and he set it half on the cabinet and not all the way and it landed on my foot breaking and cutting my foot several places. I was ok no big deal. We sat down at the table and when I got up I realized it never stopped bleeding under the bandaid. And it bled and bled not realizing this until I had walked across the light color carpet through the formal diningroom, the hall and into the den. So needless to say I had drops all over the house. My kids were so cute.Cole was here tie this shirt around your foot to stop the bleeding. Really blood on a white shirt. It's only a undershirt. NO that is ok. SO I eventually had to tie a sock around my foot to put pressure on it and my lovely son wanted me to use him as a crutch up the stairs. I am sitting now hour later hoping it doesn't start to bleed again. Listening to my older boys argue with my mom (playing) about why she wants to iron their shirts and use starch, the younger to boys get in and out of bed. And only my daughter in bed and quiet. I think she is a little worried. She had misplaced her phone and found it a little bit ago only to find a text from a close friend saying please pray for my mom she is in the hospital. And of course she won't be going to school with her this year so she won't be able to find out what is wrong until tomorrow afternoon.
We are very fortunate enough to have my brother in law come over and do father's blessings. They all look at him as a second dad anyways. He has been such a big part in there lives especially the two little boys. Thanks Rich! Thanks Michelle for letting him go on such a busy night.
Good luck with school everyone.

Tell your kids good luck with their first day of school. Taylor and I are back to school tomorrow as well and I'm just not looking forward to it. I'm just hoping that with me staying home it won't be as bad. At least thats what I tell myself :)
How exciting for them to start school and how crazy busy all at the same time.
