Camp Hale here we come!

We just dropped Cole off at the Bean's house for the week long scout camp.Cole decided to go with the troop from 933. This was the troop the boys were in when we were in 5th ward before the split in the stake. They had planned on going to Camp Hale Reservation which is suppose to be super hard to get into and a whole lot of fun. They can do all kinds of water activities and get a snow sports badge. Which sounds way cool.

Why is it that even when you send your 12 year old off you still get a little nervous? Come on he is riding up with his Uncle Clyde. But still it just makes me nervous sending my kids off long distances anywhere. Cole was excited to see his Friend Tyler from 5th ward at Brother Bean's house. Now I say excited... but you knew both were happy to see each other but this was there response to seeing each other. Ok the ineraction with each other was they saw each other then the head bop. I don't know what else to call it. You know the thing kids do to acknowledge each other. Then whispers. Cole and Tyler Halliday were really started to get close when Tyler moved in last September. Only now the wards have split, and Tyler is moving away. Bummer!

I had to embarrass him one last time before he left. So I went up gave him a big hug... And Cole oh I am going to miss you. " Yeah mom we have done this" No we haven't I didn't get a hug from you. "Oh" He gives me a hug. I tell him to be good that I don't want to have to drive and get him all the way in Oklahoma he says oh I will walk. >Smile< I got a smile from him!!!! YES!!
Cole is my child that will tell you he loves you etc just not in public. Well anytime I drop my kids off somewhere or they leave I tell them I love them etc. So when I would drop him and Eve off at school one day I said I love you. The next day he goes mom really couldn't you say that before I get out of the car? No! So the next day I roll the window down and say I LOVE YOU COLE! The teacher at the door smiles and he blushes and Eve dies laughing. Ok look I did this but at 7:15 in the morning no one else is around. They were going early for Whiz quiz practice. SO cut me some slack.
All my other kids will give me the sign language I love you sign.... Maybe they do that so I won't yell it out the window?HMMM>

Cole is such a good kid. I hope he has fun. He will be there for a couple of day with his Uncle Clyde (he leaves Wed.) then his cousin Dallin. And unless they don't get a say he will be bunking with Tyler. So I know he will have a blast. I will just pray they are safe. It will be lonely around here.I say this. But his Laughter feels the house. Sometimes a little annoying when you are trying to listen to a story he is telling but he keeps us smiling.
I will post pictures if I get any later of him at camp.
