Lesson Learned

Today Eve went to Six Flags with a friend from school. They were going to go see Metro Section and Boys that like girls. I got a phone call while I was visiting my Aunt Judy and Cousin Janet who were in from California and Tennessee. Eve wasn't feeling well. She doesn't do well with the heat. She needs to stay hydrated more than others and EAT! She was so cute. She whispers how do I tell Daquota that I want to go home? I asked her if she felt bad she said yes. I told her to be honest tell her and call me back if I need to pick her up. She called me back about 10 minutes later stating she was in the first aid clinic at Six Flags. Oh not so good! I told her I was coming to pick her up. She said she couldn't leave her friend by herself. WHAT? This is when I found out the girls were there by themselves. Hmmm. Eve is very responsible but I just am not comfortable letting my 11 year old daughter have free run of six flags. She was going to stick it out.... 2min. later she called back which I knew she would saying come and get her and her friend was coming home with us. Which was just fine.
I picked them up took them to eat something after finding even though both of them had plenty of money with them they only ate a turkey leg. Not each but shared! During our afternoon snack which I totally enjoy listening to the girls they wanted to go back to six flags for the concert. Not without someone else older. SO I called Cole and he agreed to go with them.
Fast forward to 9pm I pick them up and ask how the concert was. THEY didn't stay for the whole concert. They watched Metro Section but not for Boys like girls. Eve was devastated and Cole was just irritated. Ok he agreed to go with the girls figured he get a decent concert out of it. Only to leave early as Boys like girls were getting on stage...
Cole was so cute. He tells me he like the music. But the girls there were making it hard for him to work on his Goal to keep his mind and body clean in order to go on his mission. We just were working on his goals for Duty of God? ( i think that is the right one for his age)He said he stared at the Giant half the time. There were girls standing on the bench shaking it during Shake it! (hmmm) Ok you may say yeah right he was. But I totally could see him looking off to the side while it was going on.

Lesson learned:::: Always clarify plans. Eve didn't even realize she was going with no parents. Sometimes taking it for granted the child is a good child leaves you in a situation not always a good one. Eve's friend is the sweetest girl and I don't think she would have had any bad influence. Just come on 11 year girls. Lots of weirdos!! Not so much.

I had a wonderful visit with my Aunt Shirley, Aunt Judy, and my cousin Janet. I took my camera and totally forgot to take any pictures. Which stinks because I don't get to see my cousin very often at all. She lives in California. This is the 3rd time she has been to the area but the first that it wasn't a funeral. My Aunt Judy is so great. She is here from Tennessee and it was good to see her. She looked really good. She has just finished her Chemo rounds for breast cancer and GUESS what? Her hair is growing back. But man how she looked like my grandfather and uncle James with no hair. Not her face but when they would bend down and of course they had hardly no hair. Aunt Shirley is looking so good. She is gaining her strength again. It was great to visit even if it was for a short time today.

Tonight was busy at the house. Everyone was looking forward to having Hannah, Georgah, and Rebekah(why i can't remember how to spell it sorry steph brain fart)(neices) coming over to stay while Steph and Clyde went to San Antonio to get kids from EFY. Destinee was able to come over too. They played on the slip and slide, ate pizza, lots of fresh fruit and played a very short game of monopoly. I needed to run to the store and Georgah wanted to go with me. It was such a trip filled with information. Georgah reminds me of my Alex the same age, same grade and just active as can be. Both just good kids and boy can they talk your ears off if given a chance. She is growing up so much. She starts 4 th grade and she was telling me all the fears she had about going into 4th grade. It made me remember my 4th grade year with the meanest teacher in the whole grade. Georgah is so worried she will end of with a mean teacher. I totally could sit and listen to her and picture myself at her age and remember how much my stomach turned when I started 4 grade. And no it wasn't cramps.;) We went and got some notebook paper, went to Target to look for a baby doll for Destinee for her birthday and just hung out. We ended up at six flags waiting on the kids to get out. She is so funny. She is just so matter of fact about everything. I really enjoyed our time together. She will definitely be an INDEPENDENT woman. Which I think is Great.

Well all and all today was good. Lesson learned. Add it to my many I have been learning lately.

You spelled Rebekah's name correctly! I will need to know what deep dark secrets Georgah told you!! She is so funny. I didn't even know she was worried about going into 4th grade. Sounds like I need to have a mother daughter talk. lol
