I took Malcolm shopping and a night out with just the two of us. It is a rare deal when we get time by ourselves. So I decided I would take this opportunity to spend some mom and Malcolm time together. He goes to EFY in San Antonio next week. He is SOOO excited. He will be going down to EFY with his cousin Sarah and lots of Sarah's cousins from the Gormley side. So off to the mall we went. I detoured and we went to On the Border. He scored a free desert from the Waitress. So he was in HEAVEN!
I finally got Malcolm to buy shorts. He was set on wearing jeans all week long. IN TEXAS>.. are you kidding me. We bought 2 pretty cool looking shorts,a pair of jeans, 3 shirts and lots of underwear to last the week. ALL for $100. Not bad for having to buy in the mens section. Have you ever noticed they don't mark down the Mens clothes like they do women? We have found JCPENNY's to be THE store for him clothes. We made stopps in Dillards, Hollister for Cologne.
Malcolm's take on Dillards... We went in because I was going to use a gift card for Dillards. We split up because by this time my feet were killing me. Heels yeah not a good match when going shopping.. Back to the subject. I find him coming around from the ties. " This store is a rip off!" I try to get him to be a little quieter. He goes on to say " I won't buy clothes from a store that charges so much for a shirt. One t-shirt for $18." I agreed that the clothes we found tonight were way over what I would pay. But I never could pay $100 for jeans. Not even when I loved to wear GUESS jeans.;) But I think he forgets that we had just been in Abercrombie looking at clothes(always straight to the clearanc in there or anywhere else). And he almost bought a shirt for $15 in there. I guess he is slowly learing the value of money.
One last thing to note. I heard about a book this week by Mary Hunt. It is called Debt proof your kids. Has anyone ever read it or heard about it. It sounds pretty good. Let me know if you have and what you thought of it.
Off to bed I go. I get to play with my friend Karolyn's baby tomorrow.
