The new President

Today is suppose to be a historical day. Which it will be. The first Black President will be sworn into office today. Which I totally get however at my work we are being required to cancel half our patients so we can be at a schedule meeting an hour earlier to watch this event. Really, I am all for the historical event and everything. But I don't want to sit with a bunch of people bush bashing and talking about how long whites have over ran everyone else etc etc. I really prefer to watch it with my children tonight and grasp the full historic event with them. Talking about the importance etc. Isn't that what DVR's our for?

Even with all the excitement about the day and the new President I can't help but carry a prayer in my heart that things will be better than what many people think they will be. Have you ever had that sinking feeling about something years to come. I totally get that the President Bush made some mistakes in office. However, something that comforted me was that I knew he prayed about the country all the time. I am praying that the direction OUR country is about to go is really the best direction for OUR kids.

So on this historic day I am excited but also a little reserved on waiting and seeing what the future holds for all of us.
