Now to try and catch up on the week of nonstop activity. Tuesday night we had all the nieces and nephews over for a fun sleep over. YES!! Oh wait that is all that were 7 and up. I just wasn't ready for the little ones yet.
The total number was 13 with my 5. 6 girls and 7 boys. We were missing Dakin who technically is an adult now and this was just not his cup of tea. And Adam jr.
I really thought I would have some issues about big kids versus little kids and the split. But Hannah and Eve stayed down with the younger ones. And at one point Dallin was more interested in the xbox that he was upstairs with the younger group too. I was quite amazed at the actual quietness that was my house that night. Dalton, Sarah,Cole and Malcolm went with Grandma to put gas in the car. Dalton got to drive and that was cool for all of them. They came back and stayed in the kitchen talking and snacking for a good hour and half. It was really cute I tried not to listen but I was watching tv in the den and every once in a while would hear something. They were so great they decided to give the younger group a opportunity to play xbox without them. But the younger group totally ignored the xbox. Which I was so happy about. They played Monopoly and other board games and imaginary games. It was helpful having Eve and Hannah and Destinee to keep things moving.
Eve has a hard time with family get togethers sometime she is not little but not quite as old as the older ones. She doesn't always want to play poly pocket etc. That night it worked out great. They seperated to their corners Boys and girls and went to sleep. I got up and made pancakes. Then had to go off to work around 10:30. Grandma stuck around the rest of the kids left by 1pm. Maybe we will do this every so often to keep the fun going.
New Years Eve I worked then took Malcolm to Stephanie's for a ride to the dance. I then took the rest of my group to Six Flags to ring in New Year's. We did this last year and they all loved it. I have enjoyed having season passes this year it gives you someplace to go for a couple of hours and spend time as a family. Sebastian best-friend went with us. I mostly did walking and watched while the kids rode rides. Something about getting older and rides not going as well for me. (plus after the accident I stay clear) We gathered in front of the Carrosel and counted down the new years. Then watched fireworks. We had a great time. Stopped for hot chocolate on the way home and everyone crashed by 2am. Me not so much. I was wired. Hmm I wonder if it had something to do with the red bull I drank. I was super tired before going and was afraid I wouldn't make it. It lasted until 4 or so.
New years day we spent being lazy. Or I shall say the kids did. I Spent the day organizing my closet the boys drawers hanging curtains etc.
Yeah me. I didn't stop until I finished.
