Snow day/ice day

The weather in Texas is well never Normal and never something you can say is predictable. For the first time that I can remember Mansfield ISD has closed their doors the night before. Hmmm.... Does that mean the roads are already that bad or they really believe the weather man saying it is bad?

I know driving home from my patient's house tonight Cooper was slick. I mean slick it scared the pants off me when the truck next to me started to slide. I was ok please don't hit me.... Whew he gained control and off he went speeding away. Go figure. If you ever wonder why things come to a stand still in Texas when we have minimal ice etc. People are CRAZY!!!! We drive so little in it that everyone thinks oh no big deal and they act like it is rain. Forgetting roads are slick in the rain too. And the type of roads we have are not meant for ice and the sand trucks yeah well only seem to visit the busy roads.
First thing this morning 287 was icey in places. Then I head to north Fort Worth and it wasn't bad. I stayed off the mixmaster because I hate in dry weather and just didn't want to chance it.

Can you believe it no school tomorrow and I have all my kids asleep. Even Malcolm. He didn't feel to hot and fell asleep. That never happens so he must feel bad. I am so excited for the snow/ice day. I have a ton of paper work I will work on but maybe we will do something fun.
I am not sure however how mom is going to manage to get to work tomorrow. Her car has no heat and well in ice your windshield just doesn't do well. I may end up driving her. YUCK! But at least she will be warm.

Ok I went car shopping today. I seriously think someone should teach a class on what to expect when you go shopping for a car. How to answer the questions etc. I was getting lessons by phone from my friend and her husband. Don't do this/ don't tell them this etc..... Eventually I will find what I am looking for. One week left to find it.

Well I myself and totally exhausted so off to bed I go. No Seminary, no school, no work. YES, I can stay in my PJ"s all day. We have food, firewood, and lots of movies and games. We are all set. Enjoy the holiday/vacation.
Oh Alex said tonight he would gladly have tomorrow off even though that meant he had to spend a pretty spring day at school. Our district knows every year we get one ice day at least same time close to Feb. so they decide to give cinco de mayo off to the kids and use it as a back up snow day. Go figure. But I liked Alex's attitude. He may change it when May comes.
Night! Smooches.
