The end of a long day!!

Malcolm's procedure ended about noon today. It has been a long day I will say that. It is now 7:45pm. He was in recovery alot longer than we thought he would be.
Ok let me start at the beginning.. We waited in a very crowded waiting room. My sisters Tracy and Michelle came up. Dalton came and Grandma came. And of course Ramesus and his mom were there too. You could cut the tension. Not so much his mom but him.
I know he thinks I have poisoned Malcolm and all the kids against him I haven't. Well anyways, Malcolm finished around noon and they took him to recovery. I spoke with Kendra RN and Dr. Z and things went well.Malcolm's extra pathway was more like a band.So it took 3 consecutive burns in a row to complete the procedure. He was moved to a step down recovery due to waiting on nursing staff on the heart floor. As soon as they let me see him he was complaining on his right eye bothering him and chest pain. His eye was blood shot and I know they tape the eyes shut during surgeries many people checked on him and the anestialogist came back to check his eye to make sure it didn't scratch the eyes. They gave him drops and cream for his eye. The chest pain continued to get worse. As a mom you hate to see your child hurting so much as a nurse you start to worry. He was in tears at this point. What do you do? They called Dr. Z in and did another EKG. Dr. Z took a sterile q-tip to wipe his eye off and under his eye lid. That seemed to help. Then the EKG showed something funny. Hmmm you could see confusion on the nurse and the EKG tech faces. They took it to his nurse who then walked it over to the doctor's office. His nurse came back and reassured us everything was ok and that the tech put the wires on wrong.
Since we have been on the floor the eye is better but the chest not so much. He is sensitive to his heart beats and finally said mom go ask them what my heart is doing. It just feels funny. I went and a nurse came back. She said it was an irregular heartbeat. Which he didn't have before all of this started. Well finally his nurse on the floor came in and he explained Malcolm was having PVC. I asked why what would cause this. He said due to them irritating the heart it can happen. hmm I don't know if I buy that. But they will monitor him all night.

My Aunt Shirley came by and brought Malcolm and myself dinner and she ate with us. It was nice visiting with her. I haven't had an opportunity to see her lately. I think it has been summer maybe. I hate that. I have been so busy I even missed her birthday. UGH. But she was so sweet to come up here.It isn't easy for her to walk long distances.

I have to say I am so tired. I don't know if I am making any sense at this point. I will say one more thing. I did tell Ramesus after Malcolm's procedure was completed that he needed to not go see Malcolm. Malcolm didn't want him there and prefered his family not go in. So he was not happy and wanted to know why. It just is a matter of being comfortable. And I knew if his mom went in he would find a way to be in there and I am so glad that he didn't with everything Malcolm was dealing with he would have said be a man.... buck up.. there is nothing wrong with you. And he would be there crying. And I would have lost it.
My visiting teacher laura Mathews brought in dinner to the kids which was a big relief to me and Eve. Eve you could just hear her stress level this afternoon. I was so thankful for them helping us out.

Well I think I am going to close. He is having a lot of numbness, tingling, pain in different places I need to go see what is taking so long on pain meds.
