Shopping with Eve

I remember growing up shopping with my sisters Michelle and Stephanie and my mom. We were always out looking for a deal. I don't think we ever paid full price for anything. One year we all 3 got white rabbit coats. Oh we thought we were so cool. You know that was before the whole animal rights movement.. And the fact that it shed worse than carrying around a cat with you.

There were several things that as sisters we kind of just knew. Straight for the sales rack and if someone said it doesn't do anything for you. DON"T BUY IT!!! (otherwise meant you look like you have a gigantic butt or it is AWFUL. Man I wish I could go back to those days when I only had to worry if made me look like I had a butt. And really I didn't to the days now when I do.lol

Ok where is this going you ask? Well, we were in the kitchen the other day and Eve made a comment about not liking to shop for sales..What? She didn't mean it the way it came out but I gave her a hard time about not knowing the thrill of a good find. When she was little we always found a good deal. We just really haven't done much shopping lately. So with tomorrow being her birthday and getting money from her grandpa wynne I took her out to see what she could get for her money. She only really wanted to go to Target then as we headed to the bank to cash her check from grandpa and kim she saw Kohls so we decided to head there before Target.
We found Heaven... YES Heaven does exist on earth.. Well at least at a shopping stand point. Eve is at the stage where she can shop Juniors and still girls section. So we went a looking. She at first was real reserved. We found some tanks in juniors and headed to girls. Her taste have definately changed since the last time we went shopping. I am trying to get her to step out of her comfort zone. Maybe slowly. I found some really cute things and managed to get her to try 2 of the shirts on. So we head to the dressing room with tons of shirts. I see a transformation happening as she tries on the shirts and everything was working. Then she started to add up the cost. Well I can buy a couple and put these back. So we went through the cost once you took the extra 25% of of everything since it was all clearance. We walked out of the dressing room with all but 2 shirts. One was too cute but she decided that her boney neck(clavicals) you know the ones we would die for.) made her uncomfortable. I know one day I will be thankful she covers her self up so much. We head back to the juniors to find more tank tops who could over look tanks for $2. She wears tanks under everything. Every shirt she wears a tank the problem? Well she only had gotten down to 1 tank. And it is green. So you knew she was wearing the same one everyday. So I thought we needed a change. Then the transformation.... As we get to the juniors section clearance rack she goes crazy smiling just as big as you possibly can looking in every area to find the tanks her size. She was getting so excited. I couldn't help but laugh. Yes, she finally sees the whole thrill of finding a bargain. My daughter has arrived.

She was so cute we spent $35 on 4 shirts and 3 tanks. As we were leaving Kohls she and I were talking about different styles of clothes and what she liked. She goes I like how Sarah dresses. Sarah her oldest girl cousin. She is right Sarah has a really cute style of her own. She says I just love my girl cousins they are all so sweet. Mom this is the best birthday ever..Yes score one for me and the generousity of her Grandpa Wynne and Kim and their birthday money.

I know my dad worries that it isn't much that he gives. He underestimates the deal seekers we are and how just a little bit goes a long way. And it truly is the thought that counts. I don't know how long I can find deals like this as she gets older and I am sure pickier but wow today was a great couple of hours with my daughter. Even if it meant I had to give up my sleep. (worked last night until 10am this morning.

Happy birthday baby girl. I love the time we get to spend together and watching what an amazing women you are growing into.
