I was going to post this last night but just didn't have time. Saturday was supposed to be the start of our family vacation. We had a family reunion and I had rented a cabin at Possum Kingdom lake where the reunion was to be. We were going to be gone until Late Sunday. Several weeks ago I decided we needed to cancel the vacation. Due to gas prices and other things. I couldn't justify the cost of a vacation right now. So Yesterday we played hooky from everything. We would have done that Saturday just couldn't. So we slept in and acted like we were on vacation. No cleaning etc. You know just lounging and enjoying each others company. It was so nice.
While I was cooking dinner I had this strange thought "I love cooking for my kids." I love this type of day. It was all about family. No extra things added. I have tried really hard lately to put work aside and make sure we had quality family time. After dinner we went for a family walk and to the local elementary school. ( i say local it is the closest of what 50 in our city...lol) We took a football and basketball and water and off we went. We encountered a swarm of knats... What in the world they seemed to be all up and down the side walk area which led us to cross the street and walk on the open grass. We got there and we played football until the sun started setting. I have a picture I will add later of what our walk looked like home. It was so peaceful and so much fun. Unfortunately, we have gotten so busy in life I haven't taken the time to do this more often. We always ended our evenings like this when they were younger. In the backyard playing soccer.(not football it wasn't cool at the time) Once we moved into the apartments it was harder to do. So yes we are back. This is to be our daily ritual. Well except for nights when I have to work a 7p.m. shift we will do it on the other nights. It was nice to get out and excercise. Then we stayed up late... I mean I had all of the kids in my room until I think 2am or so. Part of it was due to I need to get new shoes. As a nurse or anyone on your feet like nurses you should change out your shoes every several months. Well I always think of something else the kids need or the house etc. You know the natural mom thing. So it has been a year I think maybe longer. But last night my feet hurt so bad..
So I ask my kids who can I bribe to rub my feet. Wow, all of them said they would do it. The two younger ones Alex and Sebastian were so cute " I will do it for a hug" DEAL... Then I told the others they could have second round. So while I laid in my bed the boys message my feet. They were trying out new techniques they said. It was quit funny. but we sat and talked which was nice. Cole sat and messaged my hands during this time. Then when Alex and Sebastian finished. I called Malcolm. Oh did that make them mad. They thought it meant they were not good. I said no it was like the show On Nickelodeon or Disney can't remember we had watched an episode that she was going out for the wrestling team and her friends were taking turns message her feet and shoulders. OH! Then they were fine. It gave good conversation time for all of us.
Ok as I write this Sebastian started reading behind me and didn't like the fact I was talking about him on this> Little does he know...:)
