HaPpY FaThEr'S DaY everyone! Hope your day ROCKS!
This year is especially hard for many in my family. This is the first Father's Day my mom hasn't had her dad/Granddy (to all of us). It is also the first year she hasn't had her brother, my cousins won't have there dad, My aunt Shirley won't have her husband. It makes you stop and think about what and who is still around you. Take advantage of the situation and don't leave anything unsaid. This is in mind This is a note to my dad. I am not terribly good with my words but here we go.
Happy father's day Dad! For years my Dad did his calling circle usually on Sunday evenings. He would call everyone every sunday. Well recently I decided to take on this role myself. I try and throw him off and call him during the week. :)
Don't know if it has worked. But instead of him calling me I make sure I call him. Even though we don't live too far from each other daily crazyness gets in the way of a 45 min drive or so. I so enjoy our talks. He seems to have this warped since of humor many of the grandkids have taken on. It kinda funny because at the dinner table when my kids start cracking jokes you can definitely tell they are RON WYNNE's grandkid. I said that to one of them one time and they thought I was putting them down once I explained the real deal they liked it. One thing I know I can always depend on my dad for is Bad weather warnings. I appreciate it now. I used to laugh because I keep just as close of an eye on the weather as he does. I think that is where I get it from. I would be hunkered down in the tub with small children and he would be calling me to let me know to take cover. I would make it quick say I am good and hang up. But I really appreciate it now. There has been a time recently I probably would have slept right through the storm that came through pretty bad and he called me in the middle of the night to wake me. Maybe I have gotten so comfortable that he will call I don't worry. It makes tornado season here so much easier. As I have gotten older I have been able to see a different side of my dad. Several years back we started going to his family reunions every summer. My kids love them. Well dad what you don't know is I watch the way you are with everyone there. You truly care about getting to know every generation that is there. Always with the camera in your face. But that is ok. We have documentation of our lives. Dad we love you. Hope you enjoyed your day. It sounded like you were enjoying picking those tomatoes. Love you!

Heather, you have a natural ability to write. You also help everyone that you come into contact with. You are a very special and beautiful spirit, You have done a most remarkable job raising your kids to be honest, virtuous, loving, forgiving, and righteous. I say this about all of my children.
Yes, it did take me by surprise when you started calling me. You always said that you were saving me a phone call and then asked "how are you?". Do you need anything?
I know that you appreciate my notification of the weather conditions when it gets really bad. You are the first that I try to call because we talk about who is calling the other family members. You have made it known to me in so many different ways that you really do appreciate what I do. You are very humble in your actions toward our Heaven Father and to others.
It is really great that the grand kids don't tell me that I tell a joke and they say 'Groaner!". The kids of mine would get it and try not to smile when they told me that I can make the worst times a little funny. I am glad that the kids love me.
It was great when all of you starting going to the family reunions. They have been held every year since 1955.I realized that my parents side of the family turned out some very "Good Folks" as some might venture to say. Very conservative and down to earth. They would do anything for other family members and they have.
I could not go without taking photos at every event! I am glad that I did because we have memories to look at. Moments of time that are captured and revived with our photos.
The tomatoes were very good. We also had pound cake with Blue Bell ice cream and strawberries! I had several scoops of ice cream and strawberries.
Thank you for all that you do for us and all of the rest of your family.
I love you!
Dad
