This is a picture of Malcolm on his trip. I got in this morning around 1am or so, maybe a little later. This was after I worked all day at home health then went to the hospital to work. Malcolm has been gone since Sunday night with his scout troop. The Venture scouts had planned a pretty cool adventure to go and look at the church history sites. Of course this was all before the ward's split. Luckily Malcolm was still able to go with 5th ward for this adventure.
Ok now the reason I am posting. When I got in this morning Malcolm was the only one awake. He had been waiting for me to get home. He gave me a huge hug and said he missed me. ( how many times do you hear teenagers say that) He about knocked me down the stairs. I changed clothes to go to bed and he comes in just as I was setting my alarm to get up and work this morning. It was too funny. He sat on my bed and just started talking... and talking... He was so excited about the things they saw. The Carthidge jail (sorry about spelling) how they got to go into the jail and what happened. He talked about the miracle that John Taylor was alive etc. He talked about how strange it felt when the went into the community of christ center ( formerly the reorganized church of Jesus Christ). And the difference when they walked into our visitors center.
It was so exciting to see him so impressed by what he saw. How things were there in Joseph Smith's time. He was also marveled at being at the place where Adam gathered the generations before he died. ( I know the name just not how to spell it). I was very impressed with the knowledge and the zeal for gaining more knowledge he came home with.
One of the leaders was my brother in law Clyde. He had the guys pair up into companion and learn the discussions. He had them give them to him as if he was an investigator. I had to laugh at the questions he threw out to them. Malcolm loved doing those discussions. Along with all the learning experiences they had there was a lot of fun. Ankle wrestling in the swimming pool, chasing down a girl for a phone number (which I thought was so funny.) They kept seeing a girl at all of the different places they stopped along the way. At one point they decided to wait at the exit to see the girl (after she had blown the boys (Dalton) a kiss and waved). When she left the exit Dalton chased the car down. They stopped and they exchanged numbers. What I thought was funny and true to form now is the girl called him first. Wow how things have changed.
All and all they had a good time and I was overwhelmed at all the information he told me. But I was over joyed that he wanted to tell me. At 3am I finally decided he had finished and I told him I needed to go to bed. The bad thing was at that point I was no longer tired. So I ended up on the computer and talking to him some more.
One last tid bit. Did you know that they make swim suits for guys that have magic pictures on them? I sure didn't especially at JCpenny's. UGh! I found out today the one I bought Malcolm right before his trip when they get wet you see several girls lined up posing. GREAT! Perfect swim suit for a church history trip.LOL I guess it was like the Joe boxer shorts I used to buy when I was a teenager that would glow in the dark.;)
I have a house full tonight Cole and Alex both have friends over to spend the night. It all of a sudden got too quiet.... Later!
