Ok I have pictures of my new hair color. Ignore the actual style I got up today let it dry on its own and went about my day. This was taken about 2pm.
The picture of the tool box Alex made this week. Sebastian made the stool.Aren't they talented!
Now back to my/our day. I got up early this morning to take the boys to cubscout camp. Off they went around 8:30 they had to be there at 9am. So dropped them off and had planned on going home and gardening. YEAH right. I decided to clean up. oh yeah I went to the grocery store to get bread for the picnic today.
Eve and I went to the picnic for cub camp. It was a lot of fun. It was so funny watching the boys in there element. They did skits for the parents. Most of them you have seen before but that doesn't matter when it is your kids up there. Alex did the invisible bench. That is a pretty common one but they were so cute. They were so proud of themselves because they all fell at once. Sebastian's group preformed the Water Water... It is about boys looking for water in the desert. They go through one boy after another who falls before they get to the cup of water. Then last Sebastian comes in and is crawling going Water... Water... as he gets to the cup he pulls a comb out of his pocket dips it in the water and brushes his hair. He was so proud of his part. What was funnier is he was more excited that he got to keep the comb.;)
The really great part of today at the picnic is I got to see a friend of mine who between both our lives we get pretty busy and I don't get to talk to her as much as I would LOVE to. Deb and I went to Nursing school together. We had all of our later clinicals together. We carpooled together and I had so much fun. Not only was it nice to have another person to ride with so early in the morning but she truly helped me survive all those last classes. It was Deb, Daniele and myself. We had lecture together as well. Dani and I had classes from the beginning together all the way to the end and the 3 of us really got to know alot about each other. Deb is just such a wonderful person. And I got to talk to her YEah! I had wondered if she would be there and then they called her son's name for an award. Yes, I found her in the crowd but she was sitting up front. Next Alex won the same best cub scouter award and she figured out I was there. Then she was sitting next to me. We chatted briefly and it was over and she had to leave. :(
Ok back to this morning. I got a sweet e-mail from my Aunt Judy this morning. I was so excited. She had checked out the blog and wanted to tell me. She said some really sweet things. She reminded me of the schedule she had being a teacher, foster mom selling discovery toys and also raising 2 boys of her own. I remember some of this from when I was little. I actually remember her giving us IQ test I think. I probably was 1 st grade. I don't know. She does some terrific work in Tennessee. She fellowships women in the prison out there and has for many years. And even though she is fighting breast Cancer she still goes out there to be there for them. How amazing she is!!
After the day at Cubcamp we came home and drew names for Christmas. Let the shopping begin.... I had been thinking about my post about my uncle and how when you keep having someone in your head you need to act on it. All day today I had been feeling I needed to go see My Aunt Shirley. She has been fighting alot of battles and we almost lost her recently after a surgery. She is a fighter and is fighting back. She is in a rehab/nursing home until she gets better. I hadn't been able to get out to see her since she moved from the hospital. Between the hours at the hospital and work and me being sick I just didn't want to take anything into her. Eve and I finally got to go see her again. Eve had been there several times and loves visiting with her.
My dear daughter talked non stop tonight which was good. I think she needed the distraction. I am truly amazed at the battle she has fought and is still kicking. Aunt Shirley was so silly tonight. She kept apologizing for being in a complaining mood. She had a bad day today and was crawling out of her skin being there. I can't explain it. I feel for her. I can't imagine how hard it is to be in there all day long and at the mercy of people to come visit with you. We had a great visit. I think she learned a bit too much about our family. The fights they have on occasions. Eve will tell everything.:) She even got foot messages out of us. My cousin Cindy and her daughter Alex came while we were there. My cousin Jennifer comes in town on Tuesday for a visit. I know Aunt Shirley is excited about that. All and all it was a great visit. At one point she was talking about Uncle James death and how much she had been through. My gosh in 3 months she has lost her husband, had 2 major surgeries, been on a ventilator and almost died. Only after many prayers and God blessing us with more time with her she is still fighting. There are sure some strong women in our family. That is good. Maybe that means we come from strong blood and we will inherit that strength and Love for God.
We came home and had dinner with the family and I have to say this has been a really good day. One of the best in a long time.
One last thing that happened today. I emailed one of Malcolm's friends mom's a couple of days ago. We had lost contact and I found an old e-mail. What do you know.Isaac called today. This was Malcolm's best friend until he moved away the summer after 5th grade I think. They had so much in common and he was such a good kid. Man did it make me realize how old my son was. When on the phone I hear Hi, this is Isaac. And it is a deep voice. But as Malcolm says he still had the Isaac voice. They moved from Texas to Canada. SO I am so glad they are now in contact again. It will do a world of good for Malcolm to have his friend back.
WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!!
