Anyone else stuck on what is happening with Ike? Maybe it's because we are in Texas and know several people in that area or who have left to take shelter. Will North Texas get anything bad?
Even though we think we have everything you need if it does give us a run for our money tomorrow. There is always odds and ins you want to have in your house. Or the kids have carried off the flashlights once again and it needs new batteries. Thankfully we have our 72 hour kits done. It just happens to be time to restock them in a couple of weeks. But do the clothes still fit? So I made a trip to the store yesterday and then today to grab a couple of things. It might be different if they hadn't already started to get rid of camping stuff because of the time of year. Then everyone was searching for flashlights etc. Well before the move in May we had our handy dandy weather radio in our bathroom where we took shelter from tornados. Quite a lot I might add. At least the warning. But for the life of me I can't figure out where it went when we moved. I have looked all over. Darn thing. I really like that thing too. You could get the news stations on it even with the tv being out. hmmm I guess I need a new one before next season.
I told my kids we had to make sure the house was clean tonight I didn't want to be stuck in the dark with a messy house especially if it really was to be bad and we have no electricity. Well it worked! Why not milk it. At least Alex and Sebastian room is clean and so is Eve's. The downstairs is pretty clean too. hmmm can we have another hurricane warning next weekend too? No really I was being serious to a degree. Who wants to worry about laundry that needs to be done and there is no electricity etc. We have already lost electricity 2 times this summer. So since Saturday is the day we do the cleaning and laundry if the weather is bad it just pushes the schedule crazy for me on Sunday or Monday.
I made my last rounds with my patients checking on them that they had there supplies etc. And came home today. This storm sent in some nice weather for the football game. I have to say I was SOOOO IMPRESSED with the Bands routine tonight. It was AWESOME> They have been working hard and added lots of new things just in one week. Malcolm told me I couldn't miss this week and he was right. Good job Malcolm. I still don't know how you can do all of that and it look so good. We left before the end of the game tonight. We almost left right after half time but we stayed to hopefully see them win. Yeah right. South Grand Prairie High beat them. Both teams made horrible fumbles, turn overs, interceptions... It could really have been on a bloopers reel. But South ended up pulling it together better than Summit could. I am sure Aunt Michelle (my sister) would be happy of her alma mater. From what Malcolm said it got worse at the end of the game.
I was sitting in packed stands and watching the people in the stands. It kinda funny how Texas and Friday night football games are. Maybe because now I am an adult (kinda) I notice it more than when I was a teenager at games. The adults are just as pumped and crazy about football as the kids. I think that is what makes everything so fun.
I am slowly feeling better. These steroids kick my butt. They make me so tired and shakey. I have 2 days left and thank goodness. Everyone seems to have this yucky cough starting and sore throats. I am hoping it is allergies and not anything else. Mom just went to the doctor for it and it was just allergies. Fingers crossed. Even my child who never gets sick (cole ) came in today saying how horrible he felt. I dosed them with allergy medicine and we will keep our figures crossed. If this doesn't say how people felt. After the game Sebastian came home set up his new little fan on his bed and went to sleep. One minute he is telling me he wants to fix his bed back up and the next out like a light. Maybe its a magic fan?
Malcolm did good tonight no rapid heart rate. I gave him his medicine before the game and it seems to have helped. YES!
I work tomorrow night and hopefully the weather isn't an issue driving in.
I will keep everyone in my prayers that they safe with the hurricane. Maybe we will get some good sleeping weather tomorrow.
