Labor Day..

I really should be in bed considering 4:30 am comes awfully early these days. But I have one more load of laundry to wait up for. Then all but one load will be completed. In this house that is an accomplishment. Now it won't stay that way for long. But I will celebrate for the moment.

Since Sunday morning upon awakening I have felt pretty crummy. I laid in bed all day yesterday. To achy to get up and do much. My kids were great left me alone until dinner when I got up to cook and lay back down. Conversation was good over dinner. I can't remember what exactly it was about but there was lots of laughter. Which is always good. I woke up this morning still in a fog. Trying to pull myself out of it. I showered and took the kids to go get chick-fil-a free food today. We put on our football attire and left the house. I then found myself laying on the couch watching the 90210 marathon. I know seriously but it took me back to being a teenager for just a little bit. Man what were we thinking with our hairstyles then?

Watch storm coverage for Gustav fell asleep for a little bit and decided I needed to feed my little ones. Malcolm and Cole decided they wanted to check to see if any propane was in the tank. Here is the story. A friend of my sister moved away this summer and gave us their bbq grill. Never to be used as of today. I always thought it needed propane. And really gas grill scare me a bit. So the boys decided they knew how to hook it up and they would test it out. Cool and guess what it worked. So instead of steaks in the oven we had wonderful steaks on the grill. Malcolm and Cole did a good job. Cole seasoned them and Malcolm cooked them to order. However Eve objected that Malcolm picked the best one for himself. I guess that is what you get if you cook right? They did great and oh they tasted good. So we decided to eat outside on my old kitchen table that I haven't put in the storage shed in the back yard yet. I know that sounds well redneck? Well who cares. I have been wanting to buy a nice outdoor table but other things have been taking money in other directions. So this worked. However we were invaded by nats. Seriously I don't think I had seen them in our yard till tonight. I will invest in a citronella candle this week and make this a regular event. We had such a nice breeze that it wasn't hot at all. I had forgotten how good grilled steak or any food is.
It might be the end of summer for most and the winding down of their grills but I have a feeling we will use it for many more months... YEAH!

After the good food and the kitchen was cleaned. I finished up some paperwork and decided I wanted to have the house cleaned before I go to bed. Off I went. Kitchen swept and mopped ( yeah i just did this Saturday count them 2 days but it needed it again.) Cleaned the whole downstairs, vacuumed and all. Then went to the upstairs helped Alex and Sebastian clean up their room again and cleaned my room and finished putting up laundry from today. I am so happy I actually got this all done. I have decided to make this a goal for myself. I think the day will go much smoother if it is clean when I wake up. I can't guarantee the laundry done everyday but I am sure going to try. And miracle Alex and Sebastian only went to bed 30 minutes late and were fast asleep within 10 minutes. RECORD!!! All is quiet.. kinda I can hear Malcolm and Cole in their room. Cole was late finishing writing a paper tonight. All he had to do was rewrite it but he hate the idea of cursive writing. So he drags it on and then you add Malcolm down there joking around with him. At least he was helping but they had the giggles. Sounds as though they still do. Eve is in bed not asleep yet but in bed.

Dinner was nice. Sometimes it is the small things that make you really appreciate what you have.
