Our first "FIRST", STOCKYARDS!!!
So we ended up getting lost using my GPS systems. SUCKS! I know. We finally found our way and found parking. We were walking down the stockyards streets to get to the festival and found a cowboy santa and they were doing pictures. Well on my list to do is pictures with Santa. I have informed my children that no matter how old they are they will be getting a picture with Santa. YES perfect no line and I get it done without dressing them up. So this year our Santa picture includes 5 out laws with guns and Santa in a cowboy hat. IT was kinda funny. Cole totally refused the hat though.
As we had walked down the street the Sebastian was noticing all the cowboys and bikers that were around.
" MOM why does everyone have cowboys hats on?" (not football team but wild west cowboys)
Well, people like to come around here in their cowboy stuff because it is the stockyards...etc. etc....
We went and found the tickets, hot chocolate, cookies and waited for the bus to tour. I have never seen the kids so excited.
Second "FIRST"
Mass transit! Yes we rode the "T". Big deal? To the kids they thought that was the highlight. They went straight for the back of the bus and luckily we weren't crowded. So we sit on the bus for a long bus ride to find the lights they take you too. I thought the lights well stunk. But the kids at the end of the night had so much fun I don't know if they really cared about the lights not being that good. If you get there earlier they had face painting, and lots more we didnt' get to do.
We ended the night at Chili's for dinner. The kids enjoyed themselves. They sang to Alex and he had to shake while standing on a chair. He was too cute.
I can't believe he is almost 10.
Oh yeah our last first... or Sebastian's first. They had an man dressed like an indian with his horse. So I talked to him about letting Sebastian sit on him. He sells pictures with him for 5 to 10 dollars. So Sebastian was able to sit on the horse bare back. He didn't even charge. Sebastian got up there with the indian's help with such ease. The guy asked him if he had ever rode a horse he said he sat so comfortably. Alex wouldn't sit on the horse and he has begged to go horse back riding for years.
So we get Sebastian down and we start to walk away the guy starts talking to Alex and puts one of his furs on his head and the horse comes up and puts his head right in my path. I had been petting him and when I walked away I guess he wasn't finished with me petting him. I loved the horse he was so calm and soft.
They all said it was the BEST Night! I am glad we went. I almost backed out because I was so tired. Enjoy the pictures!
